Author, illustrator, and product designer Sara Anderson is the creator of many well-loved children's books including Octopus Oyster Hermit Crab Snail, Some of My Best Friends Are Polka-Dot Pigs, Fruit, and Vegetables. She lives in Seattle, Washington. saranderson.comFrom School Library Journal:
PreSchool-Grade 2 In this oversize board book, Anderson takes readers on an exquisite visual tour through Pike Place Market in Seattle. As the stalls open early in the morning, shoppers pick their way past the fruits, stop by the coffee shop, file through the seafood section, and move on to the flowers. The colorful collages are vibrant, energetic, full of interesting details, and set to a syncopated, rhyming text. Anderson uses die-cut pages to move the story forward and give youngsters a hint of images to come. This book follows the same format as Noisy City Day and Noisy City Night (both Handprint, 2005), yet the rhymes are significantly longer and more descriptive of the market experience. A lively and lovely offering that children will find exhilarating. Be Astengo, Alachua County Library, Gainesville, FL
