About the Author:

Aaron Meza is the western regional director for The Songwriters Guild of America in Hollywood, CA. He is a member of ASCAP, AFTRA and SAG, and serves on the Board of Governors for the Recording Academy. Aaron is a UCLA music graduate and is a program coordinator for UCLA Extension's curriculum in music history, performance and songwriting. He teaches the business of songwriting at several community education programs and is a volunteer voice recorder for the Braille Institute.

From AudioFile:

Billed as a one-hour guide for anyone interested in the songwriting business, this fabulous little audio ought to be a model for how a one-hour instructional audio should be produced. And it's very comprehensive--intellectual property law, recording a demo, collaborating, marketing and networking with song buyers and other songwriters are all covered with refreshing clarity in the tone of a friendly, authoritative mentor. Meza also deals with planning ahead and many other practical matters that don't come easily to musical artists. In a welcome departure from the typically flimsy and uninformative audio package, the sturdy plastic box lists what's on each side of the cassette. Here is comprehensive resource every songwriter should own. T.W. © AudioFile 2002, Portland, Maine-- Copyright © AudioFile, Portland, Maine
