About the Actor:

Academy Award nominated director and animator Mark Osborne graduated from the California Institute of the Arts in June 1992. His student thesis film, Greener, a mixed-media animation short, gained a worldwide audience and earned numerous honors and screened worldwide at over 40 film festivals. Greener’s prizes include the 1994 UFVA first-place animation award, a 1995 jury prize at Black Mariah, a Silver Award at Worldfest Houston '95 and the Judges' Award at Cinema 16 in the New Orleans Film Festival. Osborne was also recognized as a New Director in the New Films/New Directors Festival '95 at the Museum of Modern Art in New York City. Osborne's MORE is the first fully animated, stop-motion film to be presented for exhibition in the IMAX 70/15p format. The six-minute short premiered in November, 1998 at the state-of-the-art California Science Center IMAX Theater and went on to win over 20 festival prizes screening in 35mm format. Recently, Osborne completed his first! live-action feature, which premiered at the 2000 Sundance Film Festival. The film, entitled Dropping Out, was written by and stars his brother, Kent. Although a departure from the trademark animation style Mark has pioneered, the high-concept dark comedy marks a return to the live-action roots where he began his exploration of filmmaking. Osborne is currently directing music videos and commercials via Satellite Films while he develops his animated feature and his next live action film. Mark and his wife Kimb have two children, Madison and Riley.

"... packs an emotional punch that puts it on a plane with the best features." -- Orlando Weekly, 1999
