It seems like every time I went "solo" hiking, I would either run into people I knew from my associations with trail and environmental organizations, or curious fellow hikers who were sincerely concerned for my safety and well being. In every case I would try to explain why "solo" hiking was my preferred method of travel, and that I was well equipped and provisioned for my journey, and had years of experience to guide me safely. I wrote "SOLO SAFE!" to help those intrepid individuals that seek solitude in the backcounrty understand the scope of circumstances one may expect in the wilderness, and enjoy their adventures safely.About the Author:
