Many carousels that operated within Rochester, New York and beyond are long-gone. However, these carousels do not have to be forgotten. In addition to telling the stories of the current carousels, author Linda M. Bartash traces the history of former local carousels through different states, countries, and to their present whereabouts.
The book represents an interesting and never-before released history of regional carousels, including many rare and lesser known carousels. Besides Monroe County carousels there is also a mention of carousels outside the county, including Long Point Park (Geneseo), Roseland (Canadaigua), and others. The book has more than 65 photographs.
