An exceptional workbook guide to help aspiring and existing Deaconess clarify, detail and complete their mission using real life examples, Biblical references and tools to reveal successful methods to developing a strong Deaconess and Board. May be used as a self study or in group guided instruction.
This workbook by Fran Jones helps deaconess to develop their ministry and at the same time challenges young women to grow spiritually, In a very "hands on" way, this very dedicated author sets a classroom atmosphere that encourages even the most slothful deaconess to move to the next level of ministry. By utilizing Biblical accounts in a very pragmatic way, this workbook nudges deaconess from their often position in the pews to an active ministry among women. This workbook is designed to be used in tandem with The Making of a Deaconess handbook or as a separate study. This workbook is particulary helpful for deaconess who desire to move from mediocrity to meaningful ministry.

. . .each Sunday morning, as I stand before the “congregation of God,” I look into the sad but expectant faces of wounded women, knowing that when I step away from the pulpit, at best, all that I will have done, is apply a bandage to women who are in dire need of extended extensive care. For whatever God has given me to say in the few moments of preaching, is grossly inadequate for two primary reasons.
The first of which is that I am a man. . . Secondly, as a male, . . .I will never fully understand how they feel, and to even suggest that I do would be to minimize what they feel. . . .No, it takes the compassionate healing hand of one wounded in like manner, to take the hands of wounded women, and lead them to the great physician. Thus, I call deaconess to arms. Come forth deaconess, ye wounded soldiers, and take the hand of the wounded, and administer the healing salve of the savior. . . For your cause is the sacred cause of “setting the captive free, and making the wounded whole.”
