As care giver to my mother when she developed kidney disease and was started on dialysis, I found the diet to be the most time consuming aspect of her care and the most frustrating. Monitoring the protein, sodium, potassium, and phosphorus was critical to her health but resources supplying this information was very limited. I have spent the last three years researching this project to come up with an easy to read reference book which provides all of the information needed at your fingertips to plan and prepare meals for the dialysis patient.

Judy Mitzimberg is the daughter and caregiver of a dialysis patient. She spent three years researching the renal diet before writing Dialysis Diet and has included many personal solutions to problems she encountered while caring for her mother.
