ADD/ADHD has become the malady of the decade. Recent estimates indicate that 15% of Americans have a learning disability. That the incidence of autism is rising at alarming rates is widely accepted. What people do not accept as readily, however, is that the process of the brain’s adaptation to the stimulation it receives is a lifelong process and neurological disorders are often reversible.
Through a collection of true stories written in the words of those who lived them, The Churkendoose Anthology highlights the pioneering Holistic Approach to NeuroDevelopment and Learning Efficiency (HANDLE®), providing a new view of neurological dysfunction and new hope for its treatment. HANDLE applies neuroscience to enhance human capability and offers hope to families and professionals struggling to meet the challenges of those with neurological dysfunctions such as Attention Deficit Disorder, Autism, Tourette’s Syndrome, Dyslexia, Learning Disabilities, Brain Injury, Obsessive-Compulsive Disorder and others.
Each story within The Churkendoose Anthology is a poignant illustration of struggle, perseverance, enlightenment, healing... and triumph. Together, they portray HANDLE’s remarkable contribution to the world community by moving individuals from dysfunction to function, despair to fulfillment.
The stories provide the heart of the book, and insights into HANDLE theory and perspectives are interwoven as postscripts by Judith Bluestone, Founder and Educational Director of The HANDLE Institute.
Take a glimpse into the lives of thirty people who, through HANDLE, have prevailed over neurodevelopmental difficulties. Reading The Churkendoose Anthology promises to be an enriching experience.
