A set of Piano Studies based on theoretic principles found in Lyle Murphy's "Equal Interval System," Book XI. The Studies are polytonal in composition. They consist or such techniques as Change of Position, Change of Position with Scale Tones, Scales in Right Hand, Scales in Left Hand, Scales in both hands in octaves and in contrary motion,, Harmony in Thirds and Fourths, Triadic- and Fourth- Chords, Six-Four Chords, Arpeggios, Finger Excercises in both hands. Three main sections: Major, Minor and Chords in Fourths. An Appendix contains scale exercises using 24 EIS scales.

Commercial Arrangements (For Print): Three-year contract with Robbins-Feist-Miller Music Corporations plus many independent publishers. A total of more than 200 arrangements.
Compositions: More than 100 instrumental compositions of which many are recorded.
Orchestral Arrangements: Numerous arrangements for leading recording artists. Early in Career did more than 100 arrangements for Benny Goodman and 74 for Glen Gray and the Casa Loma Orchestra.
Conducting: Studied conducting with Ivan Boutnikoff, former conductor of the Brussels Symphony, the Vienna Philharmonic and the Bolshoi Ballet. 3 1/2 years as leader of own orchestra in Los Angeles and New York including as conductor of a network radio program featuring Murphy compositions and arrangements - weekly from NBC, New York.
Educational Material: Author of w6 books on instrumental techniques, theory, etc., including a completely original 12 volume course in composing, arranging and orchestration for professional musicians.
Miscellaneous: Member of ASCAP, President of American Society Music Arangers 1965-1977. Special course for Composers-Arrangers at Mr. Royal Conservatory, Calgary, Alberta, Canada. Thrree different awards, (1977, 1981, and 1988) from the City Council and/or the Mayor of Los Angeles. Received the Golden Score Award from the American Society of Music Arrangers (1981) and in 1990, the Jazz Educator of the Year award from the pregigious Los Angeles Jazz Society.Review:
