The author of this popular grammar series, Marvin Van Horne, is a seasoned educator with thirty-six years of teaching experience at the intermediate and high school levels. As founder of LearnDesign.com, Marvin has used his experience to develop student-centered instructional programs based on real-world needs.
Graduate studies in instructional system design and instructional technologies along with his experience teaching at-risk students helped form Mr. Van Horne's interest in individualized instruction. Over the years he wrote and developed individualized programs for his students. His love of language and the grammar needs of his students in an independent learning program caused Marvin to design, write, and publish English Grammar 101. The popularity of the series has been overwhelming.
Mr. Van Horne received his B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and his M.A. degree in Instructional System Technology from Chapman University, Orange, California. Prior to his teaching career, he held a regular U.S. Army commission and served in combat ready units in Germany. He is the recipient of the California State Commendation Medal for his outstanding service with the California National Guard during active deployment.
