The work has toured the United States and Europe in a variety of exhibits; and has found its way into the collections of some notable personalities from around the world. Several prints from The Mermaid Collection are commonly mistaken for paintings; testament to the photographer’s masterful ability to seamlessly blur the line between fantasy and reality.
Jason Gregory Gold grew up in Rhode Island and attended Emerson College in Boston where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Mass Communications, with a major in Film. Upon graduation, he moved to Los Angeles and worked in the entertainment industry. His credits include Star Trek: The Next Generation and Deep Space Nine (Paramount Pictures), Warner Brothers International Television Distribution, Paul/Martin Films, Capitol Records, Disney Feature Animation, Pacific Title Mirage, Playboy and the Environmental Media Association (EMA). Jason’s breathtaking cinematography has been licensed by Saab, Jeep, and The Weather Channel—among others.
Mr. Gold has also lived and worked on the Hawaiian Islands of Kauai and Oahu for almost 3 years. Jason was inspired to visually capture the sense of mystery, magic and wonderment that many people experience while living in this paradise. He took advantage of the natural splendor of his surroundings by experimenting with many styles and subjects for his photography—ranging from landscapes to portraits to nudes.
The Mermaid Collection was originally intended for the photographer’s private collection, but has since taken on a life and legend of its own. Their mystery and sensual allure continue to fascinate people; turning heads and kindling imaginations wherever they are displayed.
