Smoke Your Firefighter Interview - Strengthening Your Approach to The Fire Department Interview | 360 pages | Written by Division Chief, Paul Lepore, For Aspiring Firefighters - 5th Edition This is a 360-page book containing over 100 of the most commonly asked Fire Department Oral Interview questions, THE CORRECT ANSWER FOR EACH QUESTION, followed by why it's the correct answer. Other books provide a list of questions, but do not provide guidance on how to answer them. Those that do provide answers only have a fraction of the number of questions and answers. Our question, answer, and reasoning format will give you a clear understanding of how to answer each question that you will encounter during your interview. You will understand the oral interview from the perspective of the Chief Officers who are conducting the interview and scoring you as a potential firefighter. This book prepares you for the firefighter interview process by giving you the unique insight to see yourself through the eyes of the raters. By the end, you will be guaranteed to understand exactly how you are being scored. More importantly, you will understand how to completely answer the types of questions (oftentimes the exact questions) that you will encounter on your fire department interview. Since it is often weighted 100% of the candidates final score, earning a high score on the interview is essential to you getting hired. Do not be fooled by authors who try to convince you that a book written by a Chief Officer is somewhat out of touch. The reality is that Chief Officers are the ones on the front lines when it comes to new testing methodology and developing new firefighter interview questions and processes. To be clear, it is Chief Officers who develop the exams, sit on the interview panels, decide on each candidates's score, and ultimately decide who to offer the badge to. But don't take our  word for it, check out the testimonials below: ************************************ "Finally, a worthwhile book to help entry-level candidates compete in the interview process. Chief Lepore's advice will help improve candidate's scores across the country."-Deputy Chief Vincent Dunn, FDNY (ret.)  "Paul's book is a must read for future firefighters. It is among the best preparation guides for the career of firefighter that I have ever read." -Firefighter Simmer Harry, Houston Texas, Fire Department  ***********************************

About the Author:

Currently, I am a shift Division Chief for a Southern California Fire Department where I am assigned to manage the Special Services Division. In addition to managing the emergency responses for the city my responsibilities include managing the EMS Division, emergency Operations Center and the CERT program. With 28 years of experience in the fire service proctoring oral interviews and promotional examinations I decided to write several books for those aspiring firefighters. I have conducted numerous seminars at national conventions to teach and mentor both promotional and entry-level candidates alike. My objective in writing these books is to help the aspiring firefighter set a clearly defined goal, laying out the steps to reach it and diligently working to become the ideal candidate and ultimately a professional firefighter. The three books and one Audio CD I have written were published through Freespool Enterprises, DBA Aspiring Firefighters. In addition, my wife and I founded EMS Safety Services, Inc., which specializes in the development of emergency response educational programs and the retail of quality cost-effective emergency response products. An AED/CPR and First Aid Training Corporation that certifies over 200,000 students each year. As an avid saltwater fisherman I have also written a book titled, "Sport Fishing in Baja".
