How We Care, volume 2, is the history of medicine at Baylor University Medical Center and within Baylor Health Care System. The book’s 30 chapters cover various medical specialties—-from internal medicine and surgery to physical medicine and pathology—-as well as nursing and special topics such as group practice, women physicians, and ethics.
This well-documented, illustrated book will be of interest not only to those associated with Baylor but also to medical historians. The book complements volume 1 of the centennial history, which reviews the development of the medical center and health care system in the context of developments of the Dallas–Fort Worth metroplex and the region’s medical community.
