Nina Davidson Arnold weaves a positive and uplifting tale of her five-and-a-half year journey while undergoing continuous treatment for ovarian cancer. The elegant and thoughtful prose merges notations from eleven daily journals kept over the years of treatment. As the story unfolds it exposes the highs and lows of living in spite of the disease. The daily journals were an incentive to help her endure the over-whelming odds she faced with cancer, while allowing her to appreciate life through her faith and constant encouragement from her husband, family and friends. Her courage, faith, strength, and will to live give meaning to life while bringing a sense of normalcy.

Nina Davidson Arnold was born in Chicago and raised in the quiet surround of a Southern Illinois farming community with her two sisters. Nina's strong religious background and hard work ethic have been the foundation and guidance of her life. In addition to her career as an artist and her husband Dennis' career as a teacher, Nina and Dennis have become world travelers, serving in the Peace Corps in the rugged country of Afghanistan. They have also resided in Europe and Sweden and throughout the United States. For twenty years, Nina and Dennis called the Northern Illinois community of Kewanee, Illinois home. Kewanee is where their son Anthony (Tony) was born and raised. Anthony and daughter-in-law, Aimee now live in Omaha, Nebraska.
Several years after her husband's retirement and after moving to Johnston City, Illinois, Nina was diagnosed with Stage IV ovarian cancer. In the last six years, she has continued to create and exhibit her artwork when time and energy permit. She has contributed an article to Coping Magazine a periodical for cancer survivors, and has spent the last two years writing this book. She is currently taking treatments for cancer and living her life with style and grace as she accepts each new day as a gift of time.
