Dr. Johnson’s text introduces dance as a physical metaphor for leading and following, teaching that leadership is more than position or power over others. Dance of Leadership is about relationship – the conscious sharing of authority and responsibility between members of a team. In Dance of Leadership, Dr. Johnson explores the following leadership lessons she has learned from dance - How to develop and use your own personal leadership style - How to listen to your inner voice and the outer rhythms so your movements/actions are appropriate to your leadership situation - How to set boundaries to support yourself and your followers, to make the process more secure for everyone - Why resistance to your leadership can actually be helpful.
