The Chronicles of Alexander: Land of Eternal Darkness tells the tale of a young boy whose dreams of high adventure come true, much to his own chagrin. Trapped in a cursed world where the sun has not risen in a thousand years, Alex must find a way home, all the while helping the enchanted denizens of this new land break free from the iron grip of Marduke, the evil wizard who has taken their home and with it their hope.
Along the way Alex meets a variety of enchanted creatures, some friendly, some decidedly not. There’s Pungee, Alex’s slowwitted but loyal goblin companion, Gwen, a mysterious girl with magical powers and a mountainous ego, and Cornelius, a grumpy old faerie charged with keeping the other companions out of trouble. Add in an ancient talking sword, a ferocious lion king, a few bumbling satyrs, the reclusive, vicious spider-people, an army of lumbering trolls and Marduke’s terrible Shades, great wizards turned by Marduke’s magic into shape-shifting shadows, and Alex’s adventure is sure to be one to remember.
The first of a trilogy, Land of Eternal Darkness is just the beginning. Fun and excitement, along with a fair share of danger, wait around every turn. Only time will tell if Alex can find a way home, and if the citizens of the Magic Realm will ever see the sun again.

Writing The Chronicles of Alexander has been and continues to be one of the greatest joys in my life. Growing up, and at twenty-two I can’t say I’ve finished by any near means, I enjoyed nothing more than reading books of fantastic adventure and magic. Books like Lloyd Alexander’s "The Black Cauldron", J.R.R. Tolkien’s "The Lord of the Rings", "The Chronicles of Narnia" by C.S. Lewis and countless other stories I’m probably forgetting, filled my dreams with wonder and instilled in me a hunger to some day create my own worlds filled with heroes, villains and magical creatures to inspire the imagination of others. While I would not be so bold as to place my humble accomplishment amongst such juggernauts of literature, I hope at the very least the reader of my book takes away as much joy from the reading as I have from the writing. Alex, Gwen, Pungee and the rest of the denizens of my imagination each carry in them a part of myself and have become over the years so much more to me than mere words on a page. That said, I hope you enjoy the first part of The Chronicles of Alexander. If I can get a laugh, a smile, or even just a slight gleam in your eye, it will all have been a success.
S.M. BradleyAbout the Author:
S.M. Bradley is a twenty-two year old college student living in Santa Barbara, CA. As a child Bradley’s imagination was sparked by great stories of adventure read to him first by his mother, and then when he was old enough, by himself. Having also always enjoyed writing as a source of entertainment, Bradley finally decided to try his hand at a larger project during his freshman year of college. Over the next few years that project would become his first book. Bradley still lives in Santa Barbara, dividing his days between completing his degree and working on the next installment in the continuing adventures of Alex and his quirky companions.
