Students who Apply the Elements of Achievement Have an Undeniable Advantage in School
This is not a book about study skills. Instead, Succeeding in School and Beyond shows you how to overcome underlying obstacles that prevent success. Written in plain language that speaks directly to students, it is equally beneficial for parents and teachers who want to provide their kids with a culture of success. It s about getting results right away, regardless of your current performance level.
Small, simple changes consistently applied can lead to dramatic improvement. When you align the elements of achievement and put them into action, you are using the achievement process. This significantly increases motivation, concentration, and your ability to get the job done.
Also, the elements of achievement are just as valuable when it comes to extracurricular and personal goals as they are for academic success. This is immensely helpful for someone who dislikes school because they can experience the effectiveness of the elements while doing something they enjoy. Applying the elements to their studies will then make all the difference in their approach and performance.
You will learn how to:
● Develop and pursue clearly defined goals
● Work with the expectation of success instead of failure
● Replace limiting beliefs with dynamic ones
● Elevate performance by visualizing successful outcomes in advance
● Do well even in disliked subjects by shifting focus
● Increase energy and enthusiasm by working from more resourceful states
● Overcome fear of failure, self-sabotage, and the "at least I tried" trap
Success is not an accident, and the elements of achievement are not a secret. Successful people from all walks of life use them as a matter of routine because the elements of achievement turn potential into power and deliver substantial results. This is why students who apply them have an undeniable advantage in school and beyond.

Fred Hageman has been on both sides of the academic divide in his own school experience. Throughout high school, he was a poor student with an admittedly awful attitude and barely graduated. After completely overhauling his approach, however, he went on to college and graduated with highest honors. He knows first-hand the challenges students face, as well as what is needed to overcome them.
Over the course of his career in education, Mr. Hageman has taught high school English, reading, Special Education, and English as a Second Language. He has extensive experience working with students of all ages, ability levels, and backgrounds. He has made teaching the elements of achievement his primary focus because he feels that this crucial component is being overlooked in the usual efforts to help students succeed.
