About the Author:

Greg earned his Bachelor s Degree in Jazz Studies at DePaul University, and his Master s Degree in Jazz Pedagogy at Northwestern University. However, in addition to his academic credentials, Greg has an internationally recognized name as a top jazz performer, who brings real-world experience to the classroom. Greg is the author of three Stan Getz transcription books, published by Hal Leonard, as well as four top selling books of jazz saxophone etudes and duets. These booksare being used as a part of the curriculum at the top universities in the United States, including the University of Miami, University of Illinois, and the Brubeck Institute of Music. Author of Elements of Jazz music theory column, which appears in each issue of the national magazine, Jazz Improv. Opened Greg Fishman Jazz Studios at 824 Custer Avenue in Evanston, Illinois in 2004.
