"GOLD BARS" is a finalist in the USABookNews.com book awards for 2006 in the sports category. This puts the book in ranks of the very best of it's type. You will find it a fast, interesting, and valuable read whether you are in the boat business now or just dreaming about it.From the Author:
For me it started at eight years of age with a birthday present of my own subscription to MOTOR BOATING AND SAILING. As I lay under the covers at night with a flashlight reading about boats and adventures on the water, long after I was supposed to be asleep, I dreamed of one day being the captain of one of those large, fancy yachts pictured and sailing the salty seas. With much work and some help from my friends, that dream came true and I learned very quickly how much I did not know about that trade. However, there are teachers everywhere, you just have to find them. On the job, I was learning the business of chartering, chaptaining, and operating a boat as a business.
One day after spending the afternoon describing to a charter guest all the in's and out's of this business, I realized I needed to give some back to my teachers and others like them, by putting it all down in a book, a model if you will for a successful charter business. GOLD BARS tells it all.
