In 2000, I was an overweight, middle-aged, couch potato with poor self care habits and a fast food diet. I had fallen into a pattern of working too many hours and was on the road to physician burnout. Running saved me. I joined the Crim Training Program and have run the Crim every year since 2001. I am now an athlete who runs several half-marathons every year, I am in excellent shape, I eat healthful food and I feel great. I hope this book inspires you to walk or run. The downstream effects on attitude, health, mood, and self-confidence are worth the effort. Running isn't about pain and torture. It's about fun, friendships and good times. From the Back Cover:
