John Patrick Grace of The Publishers Place announced today the publication of The Shiloh Shepherd Story: Against the Wind--A Breed is Born, by Tina M. Barber and Cinnamon Kennedy. We believe this book to be the first of its kind! We have done extensive research back to the early 1900's and were unable to find any memoirs of a breed founder! This will truly make this Limited Edition a collectors item, if not your own personal keepsake! Lavishly illustrated, this 230 est. page book with over 80 est. pictures and a full color insert, details the struggles that Ms. Barber has overcome in her 40-year attempt to create a breed of dog that would live up to her vision of the "Ultimate Companion". Ms. Barber recounts the difficulties in creating her own genetic lines as well as her fight to enforce the standards needed to protect the strength and health of the breed she has developed. While overcoming seemingly insurmountable obstacles with immense resilience and perseverance, Ms. Barber credits all success to God. This stirring and ultimately inspiring book is available now in a numbered Special Limited Edition, personally signed by the author. Only 450 beautiful Limited Editions will be printed. Each book will have a soft padded cover with a royal blue page marker ribbon and a slip box to protect your investment.

Alot of people look upon these dogs as being straight from the heart of God, because of the miraculous way they came into being-and rightly so! If not for the Lord, and his guidance, I'm sure that I could have never managed to continue to follow my vision for all of these decades. Even with the many trials & tribulations that I had to endure, I know that he is with me and that he "preparest a table before me in the presence of my enemies." (Ps.23:5)
Tina Barber has been involved with German Shepherd Dogs all of her life. She started her own training kennel and breeding program in 1962 and then later, after her conversion to evangelical Christianity in 1974, changed her kennel name to Shiloh Shepherds. Since that time she has continued to pursue her dream of developing the ultimate companion. Since leaving the Rochester, New York area in 1978, Tina has endured many trials and tribulations as she forged on, overcoming nearly insurmountable obstacles in order to bring her dream to fruition. In The Shiloh Shepherd Story, she shares some of the heartbreaks she had to endure during these trying decades. However, she also shares many of the miraculous victories that she has been privileged to witness! Her faith has kept her strong, and the prayers of her Christian family and loyal Shiloh fanciers have undoubtedly been a force in protecting this breed from becoming extinct! Tina's goal is to take you behind the scenes in the development of these dogs, as well as to share the unique spiritual journey she has traveled throughout these many decades.
