About the Author If you had told Cindy O'Krepki that authoring a book was in her future, she may have laughed and dismissed the thought entirely. As a successful entrepreneur in the wellness industry with her husband and partner, Peter, her plate was more than full with one of her life's joys – helping people. A health enthusiast with a passion for the domestic arts, you would more likely find Cindy engaged in adventurous outdoor activity or whipping up a gourmet feast for a party than sitting at a computer, typing words on a page.Described as indomitable, spontaneous and a gutsy risk-taker, Cindy's love of adventure and travel has taken her to exotic locales like the demilitarized zone (DMZ) between North and South Korea, and on excursions like riding the dorsal fin of a shark in the tropical paradise of Belize. Teen years were spent at New Jersey's southern shore and on Southeastern Florida beaches, where her love for all water sports grew from surfing to scuba diving. Cindy continues to gravitate to life near a beach. In fact, the swaying palm trees, sugary sand and ample sunshine of Naples, Florida provided the perfect setting for the final work on this book. Though a veracious reader, the writing bug captured Cindy as an offshoot of her business endeavors. An accomplished motivational speaker, there are many who say of Cindy, “She changed my life.” Cindy often exclaims, “I feel like I was born on a putting green.” Her first exposure to golf was her golf aficionado father's putting green on the back lawn of her childhood home. It was the only section of their sizable back yard that was off limits to the kids -- that is, unless she and her four siblings were enlisted to help maintain the thick, lush green. From the time golf first started appearing on TV in the 1950s, golf tournaments were the Petras families entertainment of “choice” -- whether they liked it or not. Her father, now in his 70s still makes it to the green in two. If there was any hope for Cindy to escape the all-consuming culture of golf, having Ross “Cotton” Young as a grandfather, sealed her fate. After all, it's not every granddaughter who has a caddie legend for a grandfather.Chronicling the story of Ross “Cotton” Young in time to present it to him at his 90th birthday celebration was the beginning of a new chapter in Cindy's life -- one that is richer for having mined the life-changing lessons hidden in the tale of this “Lifelong Looper.”
