Synopsis
DS Art - The Visual Humor of Don Stewart is the first published collection of pun-filled composite renderings to flow from the steady pen and fluid mind of the comedic doctor-turned-artist. Showcasing the best and funniest work from his first twenty years in the studio, this 80-page volume contains 56 of the artist's most popular ballpoint drawings, each intricately composed of dozens of hidden images and visual wordplay. These complex pictures illustrate a variety of subjects including animals, sports, music, and medicine, accompanied by amusing commentary and detailed component lists that complete the connection from the brain to the funny bone.

About the Author
Don Stewart holds a bachelor’s degree in biology and art from Birmingham-Southern College, and an MD from the University of Alabama. He completed a surgical internship at the Mayo Clinic and earned his medical license - then promptly became a full-time artist. For two decades the self-styled Visual Humorist has traveled the country and abroad showing his work, which he describes as “big pictures made out of little pictures, with a lot of fun thrown in.” Stewart owns the DS Art Studio Gallery in Homewood, which he shares with his wife, portraitist Sue Ellen Brown.
