About the Author
Varpu Lindström, University Professor Emerita of York University, Toronto, Canada, is an internationally acclaimed scholar, who has been published in seven countries. Lindström is also well known for her work in radio, TV, and documentary films. Her books include Terveisiä Ruusa-Tädiltä [Greetings from Aunt Ruusa] (1984). Defiant Sisters - Finnish Women in Canada 1890 1930 (1988, 1992, and 2003), From Heroes to Enemies - Finns in Canada 1937 1947 (2000, 2010)
