Gloria was introduced to gourd art one morning while watching a cable television craft show. She took her first gourd class in February 2004 and fell in love instantly. Although accomplished as a self-taught artist in many mediums, gourds offered Gloria the opportunity to carve, wood burn, weave, apply inlay, and use paints, stains, and inks, often all on the same piece! Gloria s love and appreciation of nature and wildlife is clearly apparent in her work. When she s not working in her studio Gloria enjoys traveling with her husband and loves spending time with her seven grand children, who are her most honest critics.
