Jazz Saxophonist Eddie Harris born October 20, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois has recorded over 70 records and has displayed his prowess as a pianist, vocalist, and a trumpeter occasionally moving into soul, bluesy and funk grooves. Some of his most popular hits include: "Exodus" (the first jazz record to earn a Gold Certification and sold more than 2 million copies in the early 1960's) "Listen Here", "Freedom Jazz Dance" and "Compared To What." Some of his music collaborators include: Horace Silver, Les McCann, Poncho Sanchez, and Jeff Beck. Eddie's pioneering work in musical electronics and the effective conjunction of different elements of blues, rhythm, and blues, jazz and funk has had a very marked and widespread influence in so much of what is generally considered today's music. From 1956 through 1996, Eddie Harris appeared throughout the United States, Switzerland, Holland, Germany, Austria, Sweden, France, England, Belgium, Iceland, Italy, Spain, Russia, other European countries, Hong Kong, Japan, Ghana, and South Africa.
