About the Author:
Del Hunter Morrill, a full-time counselor and hypnotherapist, has been active in personal and social development for over 30 years. She received her Master of Science in Clinical Hypnotherapy from St. John s University, and holds a Bachelor s degree in Psychology. Her other training in body/mind therapies includes the Center for Ethical Hypnosis in Illinois, the Kripalu Yoga and Health Center in Massachusetts, and Tacoma Community College s Charles Tebbetts Hypnosis Training program in Tacoma, Washington. She has also completed a number of hypnosis studies through video programs. For two years she served as apprentice to Althea Orr, noted healer and acupuncturist in Chicago. Her earlier psychology and sociology studies were at the University of Washington and Northwestern University. She studied theology and spiritual development with the Ecumenical Institute in Chicago, and completed further study and fieldwork in personal and social transformation methods with the Institute of Cultural Affairs in Chicago, Japan, and New York. Del s notebook series, GREAT ESCAPES, containing scripts and other resources for assisting children, youth and adults, is currently in use by individual therapists, clinics, university doctoral programs, hypnosis training centers and other training programs throughout over 21 countries, including the United States, Canada, England, Ireland, South Africa, Indonesia, China, Denmark, Indonesia, Qatar, New Zealand, Norway, Italy, Australia, Taiwan, Romania, Israel and others. At the time of this writing, her scripts are being translated into Danish, Spanish, French, and Chinese. Also, Del creates and teaches curriculum for the training of hypnotherapists. Her course on Hypnotic Methods with Children currently is being used in doctoral programs in the United States and Canada, and being taught in China by a former student. Del writes articles for various magazines and journals, and is in the process of writing books on hypnosis with children, and on the use of hypnosis with anxiety and depression. In addition to her private practice, Del currently teaches classes on hypnosis and meditation at Transitions and local colleges, speaks to a variety of groups, and conducts workshops and retreats on a number of related subjects. She lives and practices in Tacoma, Washington, where she specializes in children s issues, healing the past, depression, anxiety, phobias, chronic health problems, memory and learning problems, exam preparation, stage fright, and athletic and golf improvement. She is certified in clinical hypnotherapy, hypnotic birthing and pediatrics hypnosis. Del is a member of the National Guild of Hypnotists, certified by their board as a Board Certified Clinical Hypnotherapist. She also belongs to the American Association of Hypnotherapists and the National Board of Professional and Ethical Standards. She has been nominated as Woman of the Year (1998) and Hypnosis Woman of the Century (2000) by the International Hypnosis Hall of Fame; and is a Life Member of the National Registry of Who s Who.

I tell everyone about Del s excellent script-books including all my new students; how her books are an excellent starting point for the work - an investment which will pay off years from now with an increased skill-set which will inspire them with just the right words to use in their sessions. I think I own everything ever written out there in the hypnosis genre, and Del Morrill s script books continually rank among the best - the most thoughtful, the most insightful. In session, after speaking with a client, and having worked 15 hour days, there are times when one's mind draws a complete blank. It's then that I reach for one of my well-worn dog-eared copies of your script book. Simply reading a few sentences of your well-phrased words inspires me to automatically articulate just the right prescription for change that a client needs to hear.
