Synopsis
Uncle Mugsy is a confirmed bachelor -- bachelor bulldog, that is -- who lives in a very comfortable mansion without a care in the world. He's a lovable curmudgeon who, like W.C. Fields, has a distinct disaffection for children. His only companion is his faithful butler, Peeves, who sees to Mugsy's every worldly need. The romantic interest in our story is supplied by Mugsy's ladyfriend, the elegant and available Miss Margaret Dogmont. As our story unfolds, Mugsy's perfectly insulated bachelor life is put in double jeapordy when his adorable niece and nephew arrive for an unexpected Christmas visit. Although the intractable Mugsy informs them in no uncertain terms that his routine will not be altered -- Christmas or no! -- he is in for a rather rude awakening! This Christmas cult classic returns to print in a deluxe clothbound edition sure to delight a whole new generation of children from the ages of two to two hundred!

About the Author
Eric Metaxas has written for VeggieTales, Rabbit Ears Productions, and The New York Times. He is the author of Everything You Always wanted to Know About God (but were afraid to ask) and Amazing Grace: William Wilberforce and the Heroic Campaign to End Slavery. He has written over thirty books for children, including the bestselling Squanto and the Miracle of Thanksgiving. Tim Raglin's drawings have appeared in The New York Times, Sports Illustrated, Smithsonian, Sesame Street, and Rolling Stone. He worked with Rabbit Ears Productions on several award-winning videos, including Pecos Bill and The Elephant's Child.
