As a balloon artist, I create magically twisted animals, characters, and bits of whimsy; in this work, I meet folks of all ages. My patrons request a simple pleasure dog, cat, mouse, sword, flower and I quickly create the shape. It becomes real through the melding of our imaginations. However, I have met some adults who feel they cannot enjoy the lighthearted fun of balloons, but instead ask for a sculpture to take home to their child or grandchild. They miss the enrichment of being innocent again, if only for a moment. Balloon fun expresses my personal style; many readers have noted a child-like innocence in my poems, even the serious ones. This inspired me to create a volume of poetry for every grownup who yearns to nourish the inner, life-savoring child. Welcome, adult and child. May you find in these poems a breath of fresh air, lifting your spirit as a balloon lifts the arm on the breeze.

She grew up in the fifties and sixties in rural western Pennsylvania, where she chooses to live today with her husband, her English springer spaniel, and her own inner child. Patty s primary goal in writing is to help readers find the gift of joy in everyday life. Inspired by the instruction and passion of her high school English teacher Margaret Binney Smith, she helps readers see that poetry is far from scary, not at all highbrow, and the source of an all-around good time. She belongs to the Inspirational Writers Fellowship and The Christian PEN: Proofreaders and Editors Network. Her story Rabbit in the Pea Patch was included in the anthology, Going to Grandma s, and her poetry has won numerous awards. Her nonfiction work has been published by House of White Birches, and in Good Old Days and Fashion Bug magazines. Patty will know she has arrived when she hears her poetry recited around campfires under Pennsylvania s Allegheny moon.
