The book is unique as it reveals an unique, first hand insight into the culture and healthcare system as found in Taif, Saudi Arabia. This is NOT a collection of political commentaries nor a religious critique. As a female administrator of a Saudi Military Hosital (1994-5) and having kept a diary during the twelve months with numerous pictures has allowed me, in my retirement, to spend time writing a month-by-month re-accounting of my experiences as a female hospital administrator in a Saudi Military Hospital into this book. I soon learned about several issues specific to Saudi Hospitals, including the pros and cons of conducting a public flogging the hospital lobby; how criminals are humanly prepared for their beheadings and the hospital s role in this preparation; what to do about a dead patient in the Intensive Care Unit whose heart was still beating ; Saudi budget preparation; how child abuse is handled; the degradation of women as experienced first hand; and much more.
