Gloria Alcozer Thomas faced insurmountable obstacles when she left Chicago to relocate in England. Each obstacle left her emotionally drained, tired and reflective on her life. She was so tired she was ready to give up on the idea of living in England until she found an outlet that changed her mind...and her life. Poetry. Every night, before going to bed, she wrote a poem which eventually led to a collection of poems. One day she shared her poems with her flat mate who praised the poems and invited her to an open-mic night at a local pub. That evening, at the pub, she received a standing ovation. The popularity of her poems led to a poetry reading at a London radio station and finally an invitation to be the opening speaker for a lecture at DePaul University in Chicago. After the lecture, an academic asked her to write the stories behind the poems. "Feeding My Children" is the riveting, transformational story behind the poems.
