Harold A. Bascom, who was born in Guyana, South America, is a Caribbean Writers Series novelist and prize-winning playwright/dramatist who currently lives in Hackensack, New Jersey. In 1986, Heinemann Educational Books, of Bedford Square London, published his first novel, APATA, The Story Of A Reluctant Criminal, which was given a four-star rating on Amazon. Along with his novel, he has published short stories in literary journals in Guyana and in the U.K. In 1994, he went on to become his country s leading playwright by winning the Guyana Prize For Literature, and did so once again in 1996. In the winter of 2007 Mrs. Shaun Stephenson approached him with the idea for a book project: her story. He said yes, and so began a literal challenge of love that resulted in the fictional biography, FAITH VS. FATE, The Shaun Stephenson Story. It is his first full-length literary work published in the United States of America.Review:
This is the story of a simple woman not a star a woman... who has certainly lived many lives in the past years. It must have taken a ton of courage to put her life on paper. I think this story will be an inspiration to anyone who reads it. With what she went through, many will be encouraged and motivated by her words and life. An extraordinary story, of an extraordinary woman. --Zonia Warchala.
I read this book within one day, despite my busy schedule as a pastor. This is what I term a page-turner. I personally recommend this book to people that are looking to find their purpose in life in the midst of life s struggles to people that are trying to understand and find examples of Faith being worked in our lives... to people that are looking to be lifted up after experiencing downfalls and stumbles in life. This is a must-read for them --Rev. Tony C. Evans, Sr.
I am not a 'reviewer' in the real sense of the word, but I do know when I've read a good book. This is a good book. FAITH VS. FATE, will empower you also to go the distance as Shaun Stephenson does, and that s why it is important for you to have this story on your bookshelf and in your heart. --David Smile.
