These photos were made using both film and digital cameras, so the astute observer might notice a difference in quality among some images. There is always, of course, the intention to go back with newer equipment and remake those old photos, but one must move on. Over the years, I have spent many wonderful days under the deep blue skies of Provence, breathing the herbal fragrance of its forests, exploring and photographing the countryside, and visiting buildings and towns constructed eight or nine centuries ago. I hope the viewer will enjoy the result.

A retired teacher, with a 30-year career lecturing about architectural design, Western and Japanese architectural history, and photography, Ted Scott has lived for years in Tokyo and Kyoto, and in Vancouver, B.C. He currently makes his home in Toronto, Canada, where he has lectured at the University of Toronto, Ryerson University, and at the Art Gallery of Ontario. Ted is a working photographer with more than two dozen exhibitions. As such, he is an ardent traveller and a student of foreign cultures, and in his capacity as historian and teacher of photography, Ted conducts small-group tours of Provence, Tuscany, and Kyoto, Japan.
