In April 2007 Allison resigned from her successful career as a columnist for The London Free Press to step into the political realm. Allison s people savvy skills proved impressive as she won the hotly contested nomination to represent the riding of London West in the October 2007 Provincial election. She earned second place in a field of eight candidates in the general election, but most importantly Allison learned valuable lessons that further enhance the learning experience for her elevate clients. Other media roles have included a weekly radio segment on the hit radio morning show D, Mindy and Gord on Fresh FM, as a television reporter for Today s Woman and as a spokesperson for various charity causes. As an active member of the community Allison has advanced causes and raised hundreds of thousands of dollars for local charities including the Salvation Army and Wrap Around London. Among her most rewarding work was her position as the founding executive director of Hope s Garden, Eating Disorders Support and Resource Centre. Allison served as a member of the London Free Press editorial board, is currently a member of the Garrison Community Council and joined the London Club s board of directors as its youngest member of the board in the club s 127 year history. She was also a founding member of the Tech Alliance Emerging Leaders steering committee, an initiative to engage, attract and retain the under-40 demographic to London, Ontario. Through her involvement, Allison attended hundreds of events and interacted with thousands of people, witnessing first-hand, the good, the bad and the unmentionable when it comes to business networking. As a result of her vast experience and subsequent extensive research, Allison has developed best practices for business networking. She s made it her personal mission to teach other professionals these skills so they too can tap into the world s greatest resource people!
