Amy Lewis Marquis grew up in New Orleans. Amy is also the artist who created NOLAlphabet: the photographic alphabet of New Orleans. This book was written just after Hurricane Katrina struck New Orleans. Although the book pays homage to Margaret Wise Brown s Goodnight Moon, this author chose Good Morning rather than Goodnight because she felt the state of New Orleans at the time demanded not the ending of a day, but the start of a new one.
