As Commandant, he revolutionized the curriculum and teaching methodology, introduced the concept of "top-down" learning, developed an integrated one-year curriculum, and made computers an essential part of student and faculty life. When he left, the school had the most intensive, most modern curriculum of any military school in the world and was a leader in American graduate-level education.
