Honesty, pleasure and responsibility are all a part of today's sexual culture in America. Sadly, so are treachery, deceit, accidental pregnancy, child support, and lives disrupted. The problems of child support, of dead beat dads, of interrupted educations, abortion, and of an enormous drain on the American taxpayer exist not because a boy or a man has sex. That is a biological imperative. The problems exist simply because too many guys have not yet taken full control of their destinies every time they have sex. And with the average male being sexually active and single for ten years before he marries, the likelihood of him causing a pregnancy is unprecedented. The fact that a boy or man cannot accurately evaluate the non-pregnancy odds of each of his sex partners is a contributing factor but, if that same guy were in complete control of where his Sperm went, the odds of her getting pregnant would not matter because there would be no chance of an accidental pregnancy. Bedrooms, Backseats and Courtrooms offers the why-to and the how-to for every male to protect himself until he is ready and willing to be a father. This powerful book is also for everyone who cares about the future of a boy or man and encourages and prods each and every one of us to step up, teach and to do the right thing to protect our males. Bedrooms is not a warning of bad things to come. Bad things are already here. From now on, it s about survival. This short but seriously overdue book examines societal pressures and influences that have changed the attitudes of many toward sex and reproduction. Bedrooms also examines the resulting disaster for so many of our guys. Most importantly, we offer solutions to the enormous and growing problem of unplanned pregnancies from the male s point of view. The time for this book has come because over the last generation or so, there has been a tremendous upheaval in American culture and society. These enormous changes have been caused by what Bedrooms, Backseats and Courtrooms refers to as converging forces. Bedroom s illuminates in the most basic of terms how the meeting of these forces in politics, law, entertainment, fashion, media, and government have harmed American boys and men. We shed light on how it is that trends in the way we live in this nation have inadvertently but significantly helped to strap the harness of child support on thousands, soon to be millions, of our boys and men. Through original and borrowed ideas, from newspaper clippings, web site cuts and pastes and from extensive research, Bedrooms, Backseats and Courtrooms explains in detail how today s culture has created a virtual minefield in the bedrooms and backseats of America, and how it s become a short trip from the bedroom to the courtroom. The reader will learn that before every male, regardless of age, lays a treacherous maze, full of danger and penalties that could deeply affect him for the rest of his life. To survive the reproductive jungle created in our modern society, every American male must be 100% sexually defensive. Millions of personal disasters, billions of dollars in taxpayer money, and unjust life-altering consequences are due only to the careless and thoughtless placement of Sperm. Make no mistake about it: Every American is affected by this gigantic problem either personally or in their wallet or both. Sex has never been easier to get, illicit pregnancies have become acceptable, almost expected, and the penalties against boys and men have grown to monumental proportions, as has the frequently unfair application of related laws. Bedrooms, Backseats and Courtrooms is a roadmap through the sexual jungle that exists for all unmarried guys today. This is a one-of-a-kind, urgently needed and long-overdue book.

Fathers by Choice is the creative team that has written Bedrooms, Backseats and Courtrooms, The Truth about Sex in America Today. We are mothers of sons writing from the heart to other mothers, we are fathers talking directly to other fathers. We are uncles, neighbors and grandparents. We are an assortment of Americans: Educators, business people, salespeople, health care professionals, students, coaches, and more. Fathers by Choice is a mixture not only of male and female but of color, age and national origins. We are old and young, black, white, Hispanic and Asian. We are of both modest means and upper middle class and everything in between. We are young and old, Republican, Independent and Democratic. Our group may be a perfect cross section of the United States. In book discussions and in work groups, the most frequently asked question was always Why are you writing a book about paternity? Let us clarify: Bedrooms, Backseats and Courtrooms is not a book about paternity. It is a book about the avoidance of paternity by the not causing of a pregnancy. It is a book about boys and men being responsible for what they do. The answer to the question asked by so many people is simple: We research and we write because of the outrage we feel at a society and a legal system that is stunningly unfair to our sons, grandsons, nephews and to the boys next door. We looked at what is happening in this country, and at the direction in which our society and laws are pulling and pushing its people in the area of reproductive rights for males. We often sat stunned, sometimes overwhelmed, at the ridiculously unfair treatment so many of our guys get in American courtrooms. We seek answers to these questions: When did the government in this land become so desperate as to jail accused fathers with little or no proof, interfere with their right to work, to drive a car and even to support their families? What has been done in this country when a woman can intentionally steal a pregnancy and be rewarded with 18 years of child support? Isn t she a thief? What went wrong in a free land where judges and courts will not accept DNA samples to release a wronged man from court assigned financial servitude? What kind of a federal government bullies possible non-fathers into signing a form in the hospital at the time of birth or be cut off from financial aid? How did we get to the point where special interest groups supply money and votes for candidates who will implement the most gender biased laws that have ever existed in the history of the world? But there are no answers; only more questions. Sadly then, with a slowly simmering rage as our companion, with facts as our roadmap and common sense as our compass, we ve written what we think and hope is a strong argument that will start a dialogue about the lack of reproductive rights of unmarried American males. We use the printed word as our soapbox upon which to stand and shout to males of every age about the courtroom horrors that may await them. We plead with and implore every boy and man to trust only themselves at all times because in the bedrooms and backseats of America both pleasure and pain may be waiting for him. We use the truth as our loudspeaker to plead with our fellow American parents and grandparents, aunts and uncles, brothers and sisters, coaches, preachers, ministers, priests and to all who care about the welfare of a boy or man to convince him that he lives in a nation that can be sexually hostile to him. And then we provide the tools every mentor will need to help the boy or man in their life survive the jungle that surrounds and awaits him.
