Matthew Ball resides in Michigan with his wife Lisa. A graduate of Oakland University and The University of Detroit, he writes and enjoys short prose of all kinds. He is a published poet and children's book author with his most recent production, The Worm and the Caterpillar. Also author of two educational compendiums , The Art of Boogie-Woogie, and Blues Preludes, Matthew maintains a professional performing career as a blues and boogie woogie pianist under the name, Boogie Woogie Kid. While these latter endeavors emanated naturally from his work as a Jazz musician, he continues his migration into the children's book genre with two more titles expected for release in 2010.
