Synopsis
"Poppa's Wink" collects the stories Pastor Rocine wrote and read aloud to Living Word Church in Syracuse, NY each year just before Christmas. Each story explores the relationship of children to their parents and neighbors, stressing that a child can be a hero for Jesus Christ. The volume includes a forward by the two girls (now women) who inspired the yearly tradition.
Each year, as Christmas neared, the children (and many of the adults) of Living Word Church would wear pajamas to a regular church service and snuggle into blankets and pillows as they listened to Pastor Rocine give it his all while reading these stories aloud. It was great to hear many the many reports of children asking their moms and dads to go to church instead of the other way around.
