About the Author

The authors of this book are former Peace Corps volunteers who cumulatively spent over 13 years living and working in the islands of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM) and Republic of Palau. Megan McCrea authored the chapter on Kosrae. Ben Cook authored the Pohnpei chapter as well as the introductory material. Michael Gall wrote the chapter on Chuuk. Chad Lathe and Lorry Marvin were responsible for the Yap chapter, and Christy and Rick Lejkowski wrote the chapter on Palau.

Before officially beginning to research this travel guide, the authors visited the places reviewed in this book, ate in the restaurants, stayed in the hotels, and learned the cultures and languages of various islands from locals generous enough to teach them. As such, the information in this travel guide represents intimate, first-hand knowledge of these countries, knowledge which will help you discover a side of Micronesia and Palau that most visitors do not see.
