Jay Zinn became a Christian, January 9, 1972, while serving in the U.S. Air Force in Florida. During a month-long mission trip to Nicaragua, a calling began to stir in his heart and was later confirmed by a spiritual encounter in prayer. Orders came for a new assignment to an Air Force base in Anchorage, Alaska, which brought him into an apostolic church. His calling was confirmed there, through prophetic ministry, and after three years of equipping and training, the church ordained and sent Jay and his wife, Roseann, with a team of five people to plant their first church in Fort Walton Beach, Florida. After 36 years of pastoral and teaching ministry, Jay is currently serving his third church plant, established in 1999 in Davidson, North Carolina. He holds a Doctorate of Ministry and a Ph.D. in Theology from Logos Graduate School in Jacksonville, Florida. He is one of the founding members of Vanguard Network International, an accountability group of apostolic and prophetic ministers and churches, and serves as an apostle and mentor to other pastors and leaders. He travels several times a year, both nationally and internationally, as a conference speaker. On a personal note, Jay is a published artist with Penny Lane Publishing, Inc. and his newest artwork is exhibited at the Shain Gallery in Charlotte, North Carolina. He is also a published author of the novel, The Unveiling. He has been married to his bride Roseann since 1974. They have two adult children, and a granddaughter.Review:
Not only has being a part of this discipleship group really allowed me to dig deep into the Word of God and grow in my relationship with Christ and with others, but also I look forward to eventually leading a group in the same way and become a part of making disciples just as Jesus did. Thank you, Jay, for writing this book. --Rennia Robbertse
The Discipleship Group has impacted my life in so many ways. It has given me a hunger and desire to seek God on a daily basis. This group has changed my life. In my opinion every new or old believer needs to go through The Discipleship Group. It is a perfect model of how Jesus discipled his disciples. My prayer is that this discipleship class will spread throughout all Bible-teaching churches in the country. --Donnie Pack
In our discipleship group, I find myself made accountable to my fellow disciples. When we meet each week to discuss our assignments, we often find ourselves ministering, encouraging and lifting one another up through the revelations God gave us that week. This structure has been teaching me how to put the Word of God into practice in my life to encourage and edify others, realizing that to follow Christ is not for my own sake, but also for the sake of others. --Maggie Hanna
