Create a legacy of wellness for your family. Learn how to use real food to excite the palate, heal the body, and nourish the soul. This book offers 48 complete and simply explained dinner plans, arranged seasonally, that will help you bring back the made-from-scratch family dinner. The author also dedicated 50 pages explaining how food heals and why she picked every ingredient used in this book. Did you know that cumin can increase breastmilk production, that grassfed beef has more omega-3's than most types of fish, or that parsley is a natural anti-carcinogenic? Using only pure, healing ingredients, Katie has teamed up with her chef husband to create a cookbook and educational tool that previously did not exist. For the first time, health, flavor, and simplicity come together to take your family's health to a whole new level. Feeding our Families will revolutionize the way you look at food, one tantalizing bite at a time. Some of the authentic, flavorful, and well explained recipes included in Feeding our Families are Pork Vindaloo, Chicken and Mushroom Marsala, Ragin' Cajun Lousiana Gumbo, Classic Bolognese, Savory Springtime Napoleon, Popeye Manicotti, and Salsa Verde Enchiladas. Additionally, 18 of the meals freeze well, and over 90% are adaptable vegetarian, gluten-free, and nut-free. There is also a photo, taken by the author, of every meal.

A reformed junk food junkie, Katie is now a healthy eating expert on a mission to change the way we feed our families. After switching to a real food way of eating, she was personally able to reverse some of the debilitating effects of a painful and chronic disease that has plagued her since childhood. She was also able to triumph over infertility after being told she had no hope. Along the journey, Katie discovered a passion and a talent for all things culinary. She and her chef husband, Darren, have a combined 20+ years in the restaurant business and have teamed up to create a tool that will bridge the gap between organic and conventional, snack food and health food, kid food and adult food. Katie is also the founder of healthnutfoodie.com, a real food consultant, and she has had her work featured on dozens of websites including cnn.com, healthychild.org, and drgreene.com. When she's not cooking or playing with her family, Katie enjoys yoga, gardening, and spending time in nature.
