Max hates going to school because the other kids always make fun of him there. But one stormy night he meets a prank-playing monster named Screecher who lives under his bed. Screecher agrees to play magical tricks on all of Max's bullies. But every time Screecher gets revenge, he becomes bigger and meaner and hungrier! Will Max learn his lesson before it's too late? Like the Brothers Grimm, Roald Dahl, and Shel Silverstein at their best, David Vincent Kimel has created an unforgettable contemporary fairytale unlikely to be forgotten by readers of any age. Meant especially for elementary school students, Max and Screecher, the Underbed Creature promises to be enjoyed by members of the entire family for many years to come.
