Seven-year-old Timothy Peppin was excited about his upcoming birthday. He’d been waiting for this day it seemed like forever. He was turning eight in a couple of days, and ever since he was five, he had been asking his parents to take him to the Moon. They had repeatedly told him he was too young, but now that he was turning eight, he believed he was old enough to make the trip. He had no knowledge of what was involved, but his parents were able to do 'most anything, so he was counting the minutes until the great day—the day he turned eight—the day he may finally get to go to the Moon.

Review:
Dr. Julia E. Antoine's educational children's book, Too Clever V:Timothy and The Man In The Moon, is entertaining and enlightening at the same time. I thought I knew just about everything about the moon and still found some intriguing information reading this book. Too Clever V covers girl/boy issues as well as astronomy, as Timothy tries to cope with the new girl in town who just won't leave him alone. Antoine's eight-year-old astronomer-to-be starts his research project in my favorite of all places -- the library -- and I'm glad the author makes the very valid point that even with a computer at home, there's so much you can discover and learn about when you visit a library. She also dispels any fears kids may have about libraries as they read how Timothy's mom arranges to get his card, and he learns how helpful librarians can be when researching something new. Too Clever V: Timothy and The Man In The Moon combines a fun story with fabulous graphics and a kid-sized introduction to the library and astronomy. It's highly recommended.

Too Clever V: Timothy and The Man In The Moon is an educational children's story book written by Dr. Julia E. Antoine. When Timothy was five years old, he discovered that he could see an old man on the moon. He was walking a dog on a leash and carrying a bundle of sticks on his head. Timothy could only see that old man when the moon was full, and he thought it would be cool to go to the moon to see him close up. At first, his parents told him that he was too young to think about a trip to the moon, but now he was about to turn eight years old.Surely that makes him old enough? When he turned seven, his parents got him a Labrador retriever who he named Chaz. They thought having a dog would make him lose interest in the moon, but he wanted to go there even more so he could show Chaz to that old man. Now that his birthday had finally arrived, he wondered which gift his parents would give him -- a trip to the moon or a computer?
