Less Government, More Future is an essay on expanding economic freedom to move America towards a millennium of greatness. The book is based on the time-proven truth that as government expands beyond its core functions, the nation s economic vitality diminishes, as does the luster of its future. The theme is supported by a sweeping view of history, as well as studies by top economists. Beginning with a challenge to conventional wisdom on the structure of the political spectrum and the positioning of nations thereon, the book then moves to a discussion of freedom and oppression. The link between economic freedom and economic vitality is irrefutably proven, based on the success of the ancient Roman Republic, the failures of previous empires, our nation s meteoric rise to world power status, the Reagan years and current worldwide studies and observations. Compelling evidence is presented to show that our present level of total government spending (federal, state and local combined) is nearly twice its optimal level, severely degrading our economic rate of growth, allowing China and others to soon overtake us economically. Further, the book goes on to show how recent crises, such as the Saving and Loan crisis of the late 1980 s and the 2008 financial crisis, were unwittingly engineered by the federal government. Less Government, More Future presents a solid intellectual argument that economic freedom is the key to America sustaining its position as the world s leading super power for the next millennium.

Bill served on active military duty for 13 years as a U.S. Navy fighter pilot, flying the F-4 Phantom II and the F-14 Tomcat. After graduating with distinction from the USAF Test Pilot School, he served as a test pilot conducting developmental and operational testing of aircraft and weapon systems. He continued his flying career as a civilian finishing as an airline wide-body captain with Federal Express. As a businessman, Bill has seen all aspects of business life, working as a manager in major aerospace companies and founding and operating several small businesses. He has interfaced with government at many levels, both in the military and in civilian life, serving as a project manager in the test and evaluation of airborne weapons systems, as a government contractor in the aerospace industry and as a small business owner sifting through the myriad of regulations handicapping our economy. From these first hand experiences and his educational background, Bill understands as well as anyone the benefits of a constitutionally limited government, economic freedom and the extent to which a ballooning government can imperil a nation s future. An avid student of history and economics, Bill has applied lessons from both in building a solid, well-researched case for limited government and economic freedom.
