Kay Goodstadt, publisher, novelist, freelance features writer, former image strategist, and humbly inquisitive Jew was born in Philadelphia, PA and educated at Temple University, where she earned a B.S. Health Ed. After graduating in 1976, she married, working in other favorite mediums and writing in her spare time when she left in 1979 to stay home with her newborn daughter. Eight years later, she gave birth to a son, within five weeks her beloved father passed away after a heinous battle with colon cancer, and during this time, Kay grieved by pouring those feelings onto pages. Transferring them to computer while her precious children slept, she also penned magazine articles for South Jersey, ADDitude, DiningOut and op-ed for The Philadelphia Inquirer, and for fun, spiffed up personals for online daters with expertise garnering her interviews in the Jewish Exponent, Courier-Post, Trenton Times, and “Single Talk” on WorldTalkRadio.com. Soon after, still convinced that Internet dating was stranding those singles in hot water, Kay created Up-To-Date Social Image Management, and spellbound by scalding celebrity marital scandals, she fleshed out what would become Love & Death Over Tea (At the Fleur de Lis): A cautionary tale of media storms and ruined lives with a Jewish twist set in pre-Katrina New Orleans, London, the Negev, Los Angeles, Manhattan, and fictional East Eden, New Jersey, released November 2011 by Writersync Publishing. Her second novel, Heart & Soul Over Tea (At Milk & Honey), the sequel -in-progress, continues that steamy story of alleged infidelities, ethics, love, death, faith, food, Tinseltown, Madison Avenue, and the media. Hence, tongue planted firmly in cheek to show how rumors are cancers, those secrets and lies metastasize, scarring us as individuals, but also scalding family versions steeped in painful truths. In addition to writing, Kay Goodstadt helms Writersync — a publishing company created by Jewish writers for Jewish writers. Continuing to challenge the status-quo with her comments on Twitter @WritersyncBooks, she also works gathering support for brain tumor research and against labels, religious and gay bashing and bullying. Kay is a professional member of the Independent Book Publishers Association, Public Relations Society of America, National Press Club, National Writers Union, Editorial Freelancers Association, the National Federation of Press Women and lives with her husband in the bucolic flatlands of New Jersey.
