Something is terribly wrong with that poor robot out on the playground, and she's starting to panic! Matilda and her cousin Jack know they have to do something quickly to help her before she destroys the slide, but what? While other kids are waiting impatiently and the line just keeps getting longer, that frantic robot is about to have a meltdown. Matilda's a tech-savvy girl who is friendly and likes to solve problems, but she's never encountered a challenge like this before! This 42 page picture book is written in verse for children ages 4 - 8.

Cathryne Stein lives in Norman, Oklahoma with her husband David Miller, where she spends her time dodging tornadoes, going to Botball tournaments, writing in verse, and dancing around the house (although not so much since she broke her foot.) Their son lives in Missoula and occasionally visits Norman because, beautiful as it is, Montana has no Pizza Shuttle. She is president emeritus and a co-founder of KISS Institute for Practical Robotics, an educational nonprofit. She is the current principal investigator of To Inspire the Next Generation of Explorers, funded by NASA. Matilda Rescues the Robot is her first publication that's not an article, proposal, report or other professional work, and in retrospect, many of those could have been improved by having been written in verse.
