9780983992202: The Midget's House: A Circus Story... A Love Story... A Ghost Story

From the award-winning co-author of SOMETHING TO PROVE comes a haunting novel that's been favorably compared to WATER FOR ELEPHANTS.

Marisa Delano is thrilled when she unexpectedly inherits the fairy-tale like cottage on the Sarasota, Florida, bay front. What she doesn't know is that another woman, Lucinda Lacey, a sideshow midget who died on the property in 1924, still inhabits it. And Lucinda has no intention of giving up her home to the new owner.

Part historical, part mystery, with a touch of the paranormal, THE MIDGET'S HOUSE takes its inspiration from the legends surrounding the author's former home in Sarasota.

About the Author:

About the Author--And the House:
Anita Bartholomew is an award-winning author, and a regular contributor to Reader's Digest international editions. Locals claimed that her former home in Sarasota was built by John Ringling for the circus's little folk--and that they haunted it still. The Ringling legend proved unlikely (though the haunting is up for debate), but Anita's imaginings about what the home's history might have been form the basis of this novel.

Review:

"Heartbreaking at times and thrilling at others...I have to agree with the blurb, this book is 'Haunting in every sense of the word.'"
- Read2Review/Mama Knows Books

"...deftly weaves the past and present into a rich, compelling read. Highly recommended!"
- Victoria Lynne, Author, CAPTURED

"Ms. Bartholomew's writing really stands out... lyrical and dream-like quality."
- Aobibliosphere

"Lovely detailing keeps the book's pace flowing perfectly until the end. The Midget's House is an easy and enthusiastic recommend."
- A.F. Stewart, Author of INSIDE REALMS

The Midget s House is a tale of two women (one alive, and the other long dead), each mourning lost love and struggling for control of the one place that feels like home.
