She is a mother of four adult children (two Deceased) and seven grandchildren. Her daughter Tara died in 1995 and to honor her memory, she named her Academy after her. Curlie is a wife and mother but as important, she is a voice for children. She has spent years fighting the battle of equality in education, while assisting parents to create a strong spiritual foundation for their children in the home. Curlie has a degree in Biblical Studies from Logo Christian College, and will continue to strive for children educational excellence as the cries of the children in some communities continues to be ignored. Curlie said her goal at this stage in her life is to make sure that the preschool children who cross her path are Kindergarten ready: academically, emotionally and socially with a foundation that can be built upon.
