About the Author:

The question I get asked is, "How did you get started with what you do?"

Growing up, I remembered hearing people complain about their jobs. It never made any sense to me. I thought, "If you do not like what you are doing then go do something else. Life is too short to waste."

Even then, I had curiosity about quality of life and how one goes about living a great life.

In college, I was biology major and my plan was to go to medical school. I took the MCAT and applied to medical schools. Then three things happened that caused me to hesitate.

First, a retired doctor friend urged me not to go to medical school. He felt that the field of medicine had become too restrictive and that there was no freedom to really practice medicine the way it should be practiced. That shocked me.

My mom had a heart to heart talk with me. She informed me that she did not think that I would be happy being a doctor. She did not believe that it was the right fit for me.

Then I had a heart to heart with myself. I realized that I was incongruent. I did not like going to the doctor and would only go if I was gravely injured. I also had some serious questions about the benefits of medicine. My father s life was extended by ten plus years but the quality of that time was another matter altogether. Yet, I was planning on becoming a doctor.

I decided to have an altruistic adventure and join the Peace Corps while I figured this out. This seemed like a far better option than going through the hassle of applying, spending $50,000 (or whatever a year of med school costs) and putting myself through the brutal first year of med school when I was not certain about what I wanted to do.

If I still wanted to go to medical school, my Peace Corps experience would get me into a better school. I would just be doing this two years later, which was no big deal.

I served in the Philippines as a freshwater fisheries specialist. While in the Philippines, I was exposed to the philosophies of Eastern health and wellness. These made so much more sense to me than the Western medicine paradigm ever did.

Then I met and started studying with an energy-healing master. I really dove into that world. Through all the work I did, I developed the ability to see energy. I have worked with thousands of people with everything from headaches to terminal cancer.

Even though I studied for a while with the energy-healing master, my greatest teacher was my own curiosity. I figured out many advanced techniques before they were taught to me. When I got into a situation that seemed to be over my head, I did not panic. I just got curious and a new angle, strategy, tool or technique would appear. I learned so much from the people I worked with.

Ultimately I developed my own body of work. One day in 2006 I was doing some thinking. Quantum physics tells us that everything is energy. And, I consider myself an expert in understanding the human energy field. When I put those two together, I blew my own mind. I realized that I had these amazing tools that could be used in so many more ways than I was currently using them. I started looking at people s businesses and lives from this energy viewpoint to see how they were getting in their own way and what they needed to do to shift this.

Everything about us our history, beliefs, self-image, experiences, fears, dreams... is there in our energy field. All this information is stored in our energy field and I had learned how to access this information.

That is how I do what I do today. I read people s energy fields to discovered how they are getting in their own way. This work continues to evolve and improve. People are suffering because of their head trash and I can do something about it.

Review:

Jonathan has discovered a pearl of wisdom and shares it in this book. His admonition is, "Service is an absolutely essentially part of living a great life! It is impossible for anyone to be deeply and truly happy unless they are serving and contributing to others." With that established, he guides his participants through meaningful experiences of discovery and commitment by dealing with issues of purpose, passion and legacy. Good read... Good truth... Good author..." --Dr. James W. Jackson, Founder Project C.U.R.E.

Jonathan provides the missing link not found in most Self-Help books - ACTION! Jonathan Manske underscores that a great life lies just past your comfort zone and in this book, he provides a step-by-step map to get you there." --John Morgan, American's best-known hypnotherapist

This is a powerful and useful book. It combines powerful change techniques, action and support. --Robert White, Executive Success Coach and author of Living an Extraordinary Life
